Title:
NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6025150
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve discharge characteristics and storage characteristics of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery by forming the positive electrode of a current collecting body applied with a paste composed of a positive electrode active material, an electrically conducting agent, a binding agent and an inactive organic solvent with a low boiling point.

CONSTITUTION: An inactive organic solvent with a low boiling point such as methyl ethyl ketone is added to a mixture of a positive electrode active material, an electrically conducting agent and a binding agent. The resulting mixture is knealed into a paste with an appropriate consistency. The paste is then applied to a current collecting body such as stainless steel. After the paste is dried and the material is shaped into a predetermined form, it is baked to form a positive electrode. The use of thus formed positive electrode improves the evenness of the voltage of an nonaqueous electrolyte battery during prolonged discharge. At the same time, an increase of internal resistance can be inhibited when the battery is stored for a long period of time.
