PURPOSE: To improve the performance of the paint-coated film on the reinfocing bar in concrete by using a powder paint compsn. consisting essentially of a specific epoxy resin, a curing agent thereof and triphenyl phosphine.
CONSTITUTION: A powder paint compsn. is produced by using 1W4pts.wt. triphenyl phosphine with 100pts.wt. a mixture composed of 50W95wt% an epichlorohydrin-bisphenol type epoxy resin having at least ≥2 epoxy groups in one molecule and 50W140°C m.p. and 5W50wt% polyacid polyanhydride of ≥50°C m.p. expressed by the formula (where m is 8W18 integer and n is 2W20 integer). The three essential components and if necessary these components added with an additive, pigment, resin, etc. are roughly mixed and the mixture is melted and kneaded under heating. The mixture is pulverized to powder after cooling. Such compsn. is coated on a reinforcing bar preheated to ≥180°C, by which a desired paint-coated film is obtd.
