NEW MATERIAL:A 2-oxo-imidazolidine derivative shown by the formula I (R1 is lower alkyl, or phenyl-sustituted lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is 1W12C alkyl, or phenyl-substituted lower alkyl; R4 is H, or lower alkyl) and its salt.
EXAMPLE: (4S)-1-Methyl-3-[(2S)-2-{N-[ (1S)-1-ethoxycarbonyl-3-phenylpropyl ]amino}propionyl]-2-oxo-imidazolidine-4-carboxylic acid.
USE: A remedy for hypertension. Having inhibitory actions on an enzyme capable of converting angiotensin. Having low toxicity. PRERATATION:A compound shown by the formula III (R5 is tert-butyl, benzoyl) is condensed with a reactive derivative of a compound shown by the formula IV(R6 is lower alkyl, etc.), to give a novel compound shown by the formula II. The compound shown by the formula II is treated with an acid of catalytically reduced, to give a compound shown by the formula I .
