Title:
HIGH STRENGTH STEEL HAVING SUPERIOR RESISTANCE TO SULFIDE STRESS CORROSION CRACKING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6070164
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high strength steel having high resistance to sulfide stress corrosion cracking by adding specified percentages of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo and Al to Fe.

CONSTITUTION: A steel consisting of, by weight, 0.10W0.40% C, 0.05W0.50% Si, 0.30W1.00% Mn, 0.3W1.2% Cr, 0.15W0.70% Mo, 0.5W2.0% Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or further contg. 0.005W0.030% Ti and 0.0005W 0.0030% B is prepd. To the steel may be added 0.005W0.050% Nb. The steel is a high strength steel having ≥ about 70kgf/mm2 yield strength and such a high resistance to sulfide stress corrosion cracking that the steel can be used as the material of an oil well pipe in a sour environment.
