PURPOSE: To make the heat exchanger perform the function of a blower in addition to its own heat exchange function by a method wherein the heat exchanger includes, as a constitutional element thereof, a disklike impeller which is formed of a corrugated partition plate having a plurality of convex and concave sections arranged alternately and extending radially outwardly from the center of its rotation.
CONSTITUTION: The impeller 4 comprises a moisture-proof corrugated blade 1 which is provided with a plurality of grooves 13 and a plurality of grooves 14 on both sides thereof which extend radially outwardly from the center of its rotation, an inner main plate 2 and an outer peripheral plate 3 which latter two support the blade 1 therebetween. The outer peripheral plate 3 not only supports the blade 1 with the inner main plate 2 but also has the function of separating two different air currents generating on both sides of the impeller 4. A casing 5 enclosing the impeller 4 has an air current intake port 6 at the center and an air current discharge port 7 at a part of the outer periphery thereof. A separator 8 has the function of preventing the two air currents on both sides of the impeller 4 from mixing with each other together with the outer peripheral plate 3. When the impeller 4 is rotated, the different air currents flow into the grooves 13 and 14 on both sides of the impeller so that the impeller performs both ventilating and heat exchange functions.
