PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of discharge work, by keeping a scraper at a fixed angle in contact with the bottom of a loose cargo hold regardless of the posture of a bucket elevator to efficiently introduce thin-layer loose cargo into buckets.
CONSTITUTION: When a layer of loose cargo 14 in a hold 18 has become thin as a result of the progress in unloading, a slide base 7 is moved down by a cylinder 8 and stopped so that the pin shaft 20 of a swing lever 3 becomes coaxial with the shaft of a sprocket 17. The swing lever 3 is then turned about the pin shaft 20 by a cylinder 5 so that the bottom of a scraper 1 is placed on the ship bottom 15 and the scraper is tilted forwards at an angle of α to the ship bottom. A bucket elevator 16 is then moved so that the thin-layer loose cargo 14 is raked by the scraper 1 and scooped up by buckets 9.
