PURPOSE: To increase the low-temperature performance of a silver-oxide battery without deteriorating its preservation performance by adjusting the concentration of zinc oxide in an alkaline electrolyte, which is poured onto a positive active material and a separator, to 10∼80% of the saturated concentration.
CONSTITUTION: A separator 3, and a positive active material 1 containing silver oxide or silver peroxide as an active material are impregnated with an caustic alkali solution containing 10∼80% of the saturated concentration of zinc oxide, either simultaneously or separately. Thus, the concentration of zinc oxide in electrolyte contained in the material 1 and the separator 3 is regulated within the range of 10∼80%. By the means mentioned above, the low-temperature performance of a silver-oxide battery can be improved without deteriorating its preservation performance.
