Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove the choking phenomena due to water film throughout the entire erected gap and consequently improve the heat transfer effect of the heat exchanger by a structure wherein an erected gap at the upper short side is formed larger than an erected gap at the lower short side of each slit fin or each louver type fin.

CONSTITUTION: The erected gap LW1 at the upper short side 5a is set larger than the erected gap LW2 at the lower short side 5b of each slit fin 5. Owing to the structure as described above, the convex curvature at the upper end of the water film near the erected upper end portion becomes small, resulting in causing the water drops located at said portion to fall down. Accordingly, the choking phenomena at the upper part of each erected gap is checked. The water drops located near the erected louver end portion are also blown off by draft. After all, the choking phenomena due to water film throughout the entire erected gap is removed. Consequently, the erected fin such as slit fin 5 or the like can bring the leading edge effect and turbulent flow effect of said erected fin into maximum capacity even in damp air, resulting in remarkably improving the heat transfer effect of the heat exchanger.
