Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent wasteful consumption of electric power and prevent a battery from being run-down, by a method wherein a throttle valve switch operated in response to the operation of an accelerator and a vehicle speed switch are provided to control the operation mode of an electric fan. CONSTITUTION:A detecting switch 13 for cooling water temperature and a detecting switch 14 for coolant pressure are provided at an intermediate part between an automotive battery 11 and an electric fan motor 15 for cooling an engine, and the rotation of the electric fan is controlled. In such a device, the throttle valve switch 16 for performing a changing-over action in accordance with the operating condition of an accelerator and the vehicle speed switch 17 performing a changing-over action wuth a predetermined vehicle speed as a reference are provided in addition to the switches 13, 14, and the quantity of air blown by the fan is controlled by changing-over operations of the switches 16, 17. Accordingly, wasteful consumption of electric power is prevented, the battery is prevented from being run-down due to an excessively high load on alternator, and generation of noises due to rotation of the fan motor at the time of idling rotation is prevented.
