Title:
FLUX CORED WIRE FOR ARC WELDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58196196
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a flux cored wire for arc welding which decreases the amt. of the welding fume to be generated, by decreasing the contents of C and O in the sheath steel of the wire and the contents of C and O stuck on the surface of the sheath steel.

CONSTITUTION: A flux cored wire for arc welding satisfies ≤0.05% (C1+C2)/W and 8W100ppm (O1+O2)/W when the content of C in the sheath steel of said wire is designated as C1, the content of O therein as O1, the content of C stuck on the outside surface of the sheath steel as C2, the content O sutck thereon as O2 and the total weight of the sheath steel as W. The packing rate of the flux in this wire is specified at 10W30wt%, and copper plating is applied on the surface of the sheath steel at 0.03W0.40% per total weight thereof. If such flux cored wire is used, the amt. of the fume to be generated is reduced to the level equal to the amt. of the fume generated by a solid wire or below, and welding workability is improved.
