PURPOSE: To confirm the registration state of group numbers for registration by scanning and displaying the group numbers and to register the group number for registration on the scan display, as group numbers for calling by operating a setting key.

CONSTITUTION: When an M (memory) mode key 13 is pressed, a control part 1 starts the scan display of group numbers for registration. The control part 1 displays a positon number "0" indicating a storage area where the 1st group number for registration is stored on a liquid-crystal display device 40. Then, the control part 1 sets a time T1 when the position number is displayed in a scan timer 8. When a signal showing that the time T1 is elapsed is obtained, the control part 1 reads and sends a group numbers for registration and it to decoders 21∼25, digit by digit, to display them on the liquid-crystal display device 40. Then, the control part sets a time T2 when the group number for registration is displayed in the scan timer 8. The control part 1 reads the position number "1" corresponding to the 2nd group number for registration the time T2 later and displays it on the display device 40. This operation is repeated up to a position number "9". When a group number for registration is registered as a group number for calling, an S (setting) key 17 is operated.
