PURPOSE: To allow vertical movement without spoiling the contacting condition between a head and a tape by making one end of a heat support member consisting of parallel elastic plates fixed and the other end movable, and fixing an electro-mechanical transducing element at its one terminal between both ends.

CONSTITUTION: One-side terminals of the elastic plates 45 and 46 are clamped fixedly by a holding member, and the other-side terminals are adhered fixedly to a head base 51 to hold the elastic plates 45 and 46 parallel. The head 54 is fixed to one end of a head base 51. Further, one terminal of a bimorph type piezoelectric element 55 is clamped fixedly with said holding member together with the elastic plates in one body, and the other terminal is held on the head base 51 with a support member 59 which deforms elastically. The piezoelectric element 55 curves from a horizontal state by voltage application. This curvature allows the head 54 to move up and down relatively with the tape 64. In this case, the head base 51 is held with the two parallel elastic plates 45 and 46, so it is in an invariably fixed direction to the tape 64 regardless of the direction of the movable terminal 63 of the piezoelectric element 55.
