PURPOSE: To prevent a spot brightness value from being inputted in the state wherein an exposure level can not be monitored by using one operating member in common for selecting a partial light metering photographic mode and for commanding the input of the spot brightness value.
CONSTITUTION: When a spot input button 14 is operated in averaged light metering mode, a spot input switch SW2 is closed to select a spot light metering mode, and spot brightness values are inputted and stored successively by the 2nd and succeeding pressing operations of the spot input button 14. Therefore, when the spot input button 14 is pressed successively by (n) times, the switching to the spot light metering mode is performed on the 1st pressing operation and the spot brightness values are inputted on the 2nd and succeeding operations to store and hold the (n-1) spot brightness values in a camera 10 in total. Even when the spot input button 14 returns by itself, the spot light metering mode is not reset, and this mode is reset by pressing an averaged light metering mode switching button 15 or placing an EE lock operation knob 13 at an index "CLEAR".
