NEW MATERIAL:An anthraquinone compd. of formulaI(where X and Y are each H, hydroxyl, nitro or amino; Z is -O- or -S-; R1 and R2 are each H or alkyl, alkenyl, cyclohexyl, aryl or aralkyl which may be substituted with cyano, hydroxyl, lower alkoxy or dialkylamino, or NR1R2 is an N-contg. five- or six- membered heterocycle formed by combining of R1 and R2; R1 and R2 have 18 or less carbon atoms in total).

USE: Reactive anthraquinone dye which dyes cellulose fiber or its blend with polyester fiber in purple to blue colors.

PREPARATION: An anthraquinone compd. of formula II is made to react with a difluorotriazine compd. of formula III (used in an amount of 1W1.2 times as much as II by mol) at 40W90°C for 0.5W2hr in an organic solvent in the presence of an acid binding agent used in an amount of 1W2 times as much as II by mol.
