Title:
IMMERSED THERMOCOUPLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5997024
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration due to oxidization of air with a high accuracy and a quick response by having a thermocouple made up of a thermosensitive element in which two kinds of metal strands for generating a thermo-electromotive force having an injunction at one end is covered with a ceramic material in such a manner as to solidified integral.

CONSTITUTION: For example, a Pt strand 8 is put together with one end 10 of a Pt-Ph alloy strand 9 and placed on a quartz glass plate 21 and covered with a ceramic coat agent 22 mainly composed of silica nitride, zirconium or the like. Thereafter, a quartz glass plate 22 is placed thereon and solidified under a pressure and leads 33 and 34 are connected to the strands 8 and 9 separately through terminals 25 and 26 to form a thermosensitive element 20, which is inserted into a hole 30 of a housing 29 and filled with a heat resistant cement 32 or the like to integrate. Leads 33 and 34 are connected to a contactor 4 to make a dipped thermocouple for measuring temperature of molten steel or the like. Sealing of the strands 8 and 9 with a ceramic agent 22 can prevent deterioration due to oxidation as caused by contact with air thereby producing a thermocouple being usable repeatedly.
