PURPOSE: To perform airtightness check of an oil port of an incorporated linking pin automatically on the spot every time a caterpillar band is assembled, by arranging the detecting end of a seal checker exclusively used for the oil sealed type caterpillar band in the vicinity of the operation region of a track press.
CONSTITUTION: A vacuum head is closely contacted with a surface 28A of an oil injecting port 28 of a linking pin 24 of an assembled caterpillar band 15. The head tests the airtightness of an oil port 26 through a hose, which is connected to the connecting port of a manifold. The vacuum head, which is to become a seal check adapter, is made of rubber and other elastic flexible material, and sucked by the end surface 28A of the linking pin 24. A seal checker having the above described constitution is attached to the upper surface of the track press through an attaching mechanism. The seal check of the caterpillar band 15, which is assembled by the track press, is automatically performed immediately after the assembling. The defective part for sealing can be immediately replaced for new one.
