PURPOSE: An agent for growing and nourishing hair containing an oxidizing agent as an active ingredient such as stabilized chlorine dioxide, potassium bromate, etc., substances to suppress or to prevent an enzymatic action of 5α reductase, a reductase, occurring in the sebaceous gland.

CONSTITUTION: An agent for growing and nourishing hair containing an oxidizing agent such as stabilized chlorine dioxide, potassium bromate, etc. as an active ingredient. Testosterone, male hormone, is formed by the testicles, sent directly to the sebaceous gland by the circulation, and converted by 5α reductase, a reductase occurring in the sebaceous gland, into 5α dehydrotestosterone, strong male hormone, which suppresses the cell division of hair metrocyte to form baldness. The agent for growing and nourishing hair suppresses the activity of 5α reductase, a reductase, contained in it, and promotes the nourishment and regeneration of hair. The amount of the stabilized chlorine dioxide used is preferably 250ppm.
