PURPOSE: To prepare the titled foam free from water pollution and mine hazards, etc., suitable for environmental hygiene, and useful for the prevention of ground subsidence, etc., by compounding an NCO-terminated prepolymer, a high molecular weight polyol, water as a foaming agent, and isocyanate trimerization catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The objective stock solution having an isocyanate index of 130W 700 is prepared by compounding (A) a polyisocyanate component composed of an NCO-terminated prepolymer obtained by the reaction of a crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a 2- or 3-functional polyoxyalkylene polyol having an average molecular weight of ≥1,000, (B) a polyol component wherein ≥30wt% of the component comprising a polyoxyalkylenetriol having an average molecular weight of ≥2,000, (C) 0.1W0.7 equivalent, based on 1 equivalent of the isocyanate, of water as a foaming agent, and (D) a trimerizing catalyst for isocyanate (e.g. 2,4,6-dimethylaminomethylphenol, etc.).
