PURPOSE: To recover a floating substance in good efficiency, by a method wherein the leading end of a net conveyor is inserted into a liquid surface and a suction port is brought close to the surface of a net.

CONSTITUTION: A floating substance recovery apparatus is arranged in an inclined state so as to scoop up a floated substance flowing through a water drainage channel 1 of a kitchen in a floated condition onto a net conveyor 2 to convey the same upwardly. The net conveyor 2 is driven to a direction shown by an arrow by a drive apparatus 4 and the floated substance scooped up on the surface of a net 3 is sucked therefrom to be separated from the net and sent to a dust collecting tank 8 through a duct 7 to be recovered and stored therein. The floated substance comprises fine dust or oil cake but the floating substance scooped up on the net 3 is separated and sucked simply in good efficiency by a suction part 6 without being strongly adhered to said net to be recovered in the dust collecting tank 8.
