PURPOSE: The titled composition with improved double refractive indices, comprising a specified polymer containing methyl-cyclohexyl methacrylate as a principal monomer component.
CONSTITUTION: A resin composition is obtained by adding 5W0wt% additive such as a plasticizer (e.g., 2-ethylhexyl phthalate) and an ultraviolet ray absorber (e.g., a phenyl o-hydroxysalicylate type compound) is added to 95W100wt% optical resin having an MI of above 2.5g/10min and a glass transition point of above 75°C as measured according to ISO R-1133 test method under conditions of 230°C and 5kgf and containing methylcyclohexyl methacrylate as a principal monomer. Then, this composition is formed into optical elements by compression molding, injection molding or the like.
