Title:
SOLAR ENERGY REFLECTION GLASS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5954642
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a solar energy reflection glass having improved optical and thermal properties of TiN keeping the original stiffness and toughness of the TiN, by applying an Au-doped TiN film on a glass substrate.

CONSTITUTION: The objective solar energy reflection film is obtained by forming a film of TiN containing 30W35wt% of Au and having a thickness of 200W500 on a glass substrate. The application of the film to the surface of the glass is preferably carried out by sputtering, and the addition of Au is performed by adding Au powder in the preparation of TiN target. It is essential to control the sputtering or metallizing conditions or adjust the target and the evaporation source so as to attain uniform distribution of Au throughout the TiN film. The increases in the solar energy reflectance achieved by the addition of Au are 4.5%, 3.8% and 2.3% for the film thickness of 200, 300 and 400, respectively.
