PURPOSE: To weld electrically a thin ornamental plate by a projection without damaging said plate by forming the projection on the rear of said plate and welding the ornamental plate on the surface of a barrel of a band.

CONSTITUTION: A mask 6 is formed by screen printing or intaglio transfer printing on a ribbon material 5 used as a blank material for an ornamental plate 1 except the outside circumference on said material and the inside circumference along a window 4 which are held unprinted as a blank part. A metal plating layer having high electric resistance is formed on the ribbon 5 excluding the part of the mask. Said layer is then die blanked and the material 5 is cut along a line 8 to cut off the plate 1 and the mask 6 is removed, whereby a projection 7 is formed. Electric welding is performed by such projection 7, whereby the plate 1 is welded on the top surface of the barrel 3 of the band.
