Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a low-costed remodeling for converting a 40' container hold into a 20' container hold by providing 20' container cell guides erected at the central portions of 40' container cell guides and fixing through wire-ropes the guides to the 40' container cell guides opposing thereto.

CONSTITUTION: 20' container cell guides 10 are erected at the central portions between existing 40' container cell guides 9 and 9 arranged transversely so as to allow loading of 20' containers in two rows between the transversely arranged cell guides 9. The cell guide 10 is composed of four cell angle bars 2 vertically extending in parallel in minute spaced relationship with one another, and has an entry guide 1 of cruciform and angle section projecting from the upper end thereof up to a height slightly lower than the height of the cell guide 9 (by about 500mm). The cell guides 10 are fixed through a vertical single steel plate laterally extending through the upper ends of the cell guides 10 longitudinally opposing to one another, and also fixed at the portions near the upper ends and central portions thereof to the cell guides 9 through transversely extending horizontal beams 3 and wire-ropes 6 with turnbuckles 7.
