PURPOSE: To attain use of a memory card with less capacity by providing an abbreviated dial converting memory to an exchange side, receiving user identification information, selecting an abbreviated dial converting memory at each user, receiving the abbreviated code further and converting it into a normal dial signal.

CONSTITUTION: In a termainl device T provided with a memory card reading function, an identification code UID identifying the user from the memory card MCR is read and this code is transferred to a telephone exchange EX. The telephone exchange EX is provided with a means selecting an abbreviated dial converting memory ABM specific to the user from the identification code UID so as to attain the abbreviated dial service at each user of the terminal device T.
