PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform precise transfer molding, in the transfer apparatus in an injection molding machine, by providing a film fixing apparatus for fixing the positional relation with a mold before a transfer film is contacted with the mold.

CONSTITUTION: A transfer molding apparatus puts a transfer film 71 between a fixed mold 36 and a movable mold 40 and, simultaneously with injection molding, transfers the picture pattern on the transfer film 71 to the molded article formed in the cavity provided by the recessed part 40' and the protruded part 36a' of both molds. The film 71 is intermittently sent in a predetermined amount by a feed roller and subjected to positional determination in X and Y directions by the signals of respective position sensors and fixed between a film fixing apparatus 51 and a clamp receiver 49 before put between the protruded part 36a' of the fixed mold 36 and the recessed part 40' of the movable mold 46 at the time of mold clamping operation. By this mechanism, wrinkles are hardly generated in the transfer part of the transfer film and the generation of an inferior molded article can be reduced and precise transfer molding can be performed without generating positional shift.
