PURPOSE: To prevent bending of molding by dies and the cracking thereof by molding the powder packed in the dies under pressure by means of upper, lower punches then moving the dies while said powder molding is held sandwiched with the upper and lower punches.
CONSTITUTION: An upper ram 10 of an upper cylinder is moved downward to insert at upper punch 3 into a die 1, and the powder packed in the die 1 is pressurized to mold a powder molding 11. While the punch 3 is held located in the bottom dead point position, it is removed forcibly by an upper cylinder 9, and with the molding 11 held sandwiched with the punch 3 and a lower punch 2, the lower ram 5 of a lower cylinder 4 is moved downward to bring down the die 1. The die 1 drops by passing through the sandwiched molding 11 and stops. The upper ram 10 of the cylinder 9 is moved upward to move the punch 3 upward, thereby removing the molding 11. Since the die 1 is moved while the molding 11 is held sandwiched by the punches 2, 3 in such a way that the molding 11 does not bend despite the exertion of the side pressure upon the die 1 and the cracking thereof is prevented.
