Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING TEMPERATURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5830628
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform accurate temperature measurement by using optical fiber, by measuring the temperature of a fluorescent material based on the change in attenuation time constant of afterglow after the fluorescent material is lit by exciting energy such as light.

CONSTITUTION: Ultraviolet rays outputted from a light source 1 pass a lens 2 and a half mirror 3 and are sent to a front end 4a of the optical fiber 4. The rays are irradiated on the fluorescent material 5 from a rear end 4b, and the fluorescent material 5 is excited and lit. After the irradiation has finished, the afterglow is sent to the front end 4a from the rear end 4b of the optical fiber again, reflected by the half mirror 3, and sent to a transducer 8 through a lens and a filter 7. The signal which is transduced into the electrical signal is computed in the computing circuit in the transducer 8, and the temperature of the fluorescent material is displayed.
