Title:
HEATER OF CATALYTIC TYPE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6029505
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To assure safety performance in a heater of catalytic type, as well as to make the heater suitable to produce large quantity of heat, by preventing unburned carbon and toxic substance such as CO, HC, and NOx from generating from combustion gas, and by continuing oxidizing reaction in low temperature, by providing a reactor, a fuel supplier, an air supplier, and a heat exchanger, inside a heater case.

CONSTITUTION: A heater of catalytic type has a heater case 1 to which an intake port 1A to take in air and an exhaust port 1B to exhaust combustion gas are provided. A catalytic reactor 2 is housed in the case 1. The catalytic reactor 2 has a reaction surface for an oxidizing catalyst, which becomes effective by a catalyst in pellet state, made of ceramics or heat-resistant metal as a carrier, carrying an oxidizing catalyst such as platinum or palladium. Fuel is reacted by the catalyst, or a reducing effect accompanied by generation of heat is utilized. A fan 3 which is fitted to the side of an air intake port 1A, a fuel supplier 4 which is disposed between the fan 3 and the reactor 2, and a heat exchanger 5 to exchange heat generated by the reactor 2 with a fluid to be heated, which is composed of a heat exchanger part 51 located in the reactor 2 and a fan 56, are all housed in the case 1.
