PURPOSE: To obtain a paper pressing roller capable of greatly lessening the occurrence of slipping between paper and platen roller during the paper feeding operation by providing a Teflon resin layer of small friction coefficient on the pressing face of the roller.

CONSTITUTION: The periphery of a cylindrical rubber 11 fixed to a shaft 13 pivotally turning by a bearing(not illustrated) is covered with a paint layer 12 of Teflon resin, etc., having small friction coefficients, with a thickness enough not to affect the hardness of the rubber, to form a paper pressing roller(a thin Teflon resin tape instead of the paint layer may be wound and bonded). Paper 6 is pressed on the platen roller 1 by using the paper pressing roller (paper bail roller 7 and feed rollers 8 and 9), and the platen roller 1 is turned to feed the paper 6.
