PURPOSE: To reduce the offset quantity of an ignition timing at the time of a rapid acceleration, by forcibly igniting at a predetermined crank angle at the latest, in controlling the ignition timing.
CONSTITUTION: A generating circuit 5 for a counting starting signal is reset by a resetting signal RS1 supplied from a microcomputer 4, and thereafter, it generates a counting starting signal F synchronous with an angle pulse reversed to "H" when two angle pulses A are inputted. The microcomputer 4 generates the resetting signal RS1 in accordance with the ignition zone relevant to the ignition timing. Since the circuit 5 generates an output by counting two angle pulses A, it is sufficient to generate the signal RS1 at a time point earlier than a target crank angle by two periods. At the time of a rapid acceleration or the like, if the igniting signal is not generated when the signal F is generated, the first down-counter 11 is forcibly reset. Accordingly, the offset quantity of the ignition timing at the time of rapid acceleration is reduced.
