Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a light-gauge high silicon strip of which the specific face is oriented to the surface and the specific orientation is oriented in the rolling direction by subjecting the ultraquickly cooled light-gauge high silicon steel strip which contains a specific amt. of silicon and is manufactured by an ultraquick cooling method to cold rolling and annealing.

CONSTITUTION: A light-gauge high silicon steel strip which contains 4.0W10.0wt% silicon, consists of the balance substantially iron and is right after the manufacture by an ultraquick cooling process is cold-rolled at ≥40% is then subjected to thermal annealing in a nonoxidative atmosphere kept at 600W1,050°C and further to cold rolling at ≥40% followed by thermal annealing in a nonoxidative atmosphere kept at ≥1,050°C. The light-gauge high silicon steel of which the {110} face is oriented to the surface of the strip and mainly the <001> orientation oriented in the rolling direction is thus obtd. The nonoxidative atmosphere is maintained under 1×10-2W1×10-4Torr for the 1st stage and ≥1×10-4Torr for the 2nd stage, for both of which a vacuum or at least one kind of gas among gaseous Ar, nitrogen and hydrogen is used. The impurities such as oxygen, H2S and steam contained in the gas are kept at 1W500ppm in the 1st stage and ≤1ppm in the 2nd stage.
