PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction of cost, by a method wherein when data to be printed are stored with several data buffers, they are read with the same counter and when printed, they are read by shifting them by the head interval amount.
CONSTITUTION: Line buffers 12W15 corresponding to respective colors of Y, M, C and K receive data by each one byte and successively write them by the I/O operation of CPU. Though they are read with a counter 1 when printed, the complement of delay quantity is indicated to switches 2W4 and then, the delayed count is carried out with adders 5W7. Because the outputs of adders 5W7 are selected with multiplexers 9W11, each byte of data is read by the timing corrected by the head amount. Thus, by making the line buffer and the delay buffer common to each other, the reduction of cost can be achieved without requiring the delay buffer separately.
