PURPOSE: To inhibit the clogging of an aerating nozzle, by continuously or intermittently supplying water to compressed air to be supplied to the aerating nozzle so as to hold the surface of the inner wall of said nozzle under a humid condition, and supplying the compressed air to the interior of a liquid to be treated.
CONSTITUTION: By starting the operation of an aerator, compressed air from piping 2 for supplying compressed air is ejected through each aerating nozzle 6 to exhibit the effect of aeration. Hereon, water 12 from piping 3 for pouring water is atomized in the compressed air inside the compressed air-supply pipe 2. Thus, the surfaces of the inner walls of the compressed air-supply pipe 2 and each aerating nozzle 6 are constantly held under a humid condition. Consequently, the adhesiveness of scale onto the surface of the inner wall of each aerating nozzle 6 is reduced so that the adhesion is eliminated by pushing out the scale with the stream of the compressed air. As a result, the clogging of each aerating nozzle 6 is not caused.
