PURPOSE: To erase unnecessary pictures or extract desired pictures optionally, by setting and controlling the time of the operation and the unoperation of each of plural electric charge removing means which are arranged in the direction orthogonal to the movement direction of a photoreceptor.
CONSTITUTION: A drum 1 is charged by a primary charger 12, and the image irradiated with an illumination lamp 16 is slit-exposed in an exposure part 11. Simultaneously, the drum 1 is destaticized by a destaticizer 13, and the image is exposed by an overall exposure lamp 14 to form an electrostatic latent image. The latent image is made apparent as a toner image by a developing equipment 15. A transfer paper P is supplied and is allowed to pass between a transfer charger 20 and the drum 1, and the toner image on the drum 1 is transferred to the transfer paper P. The transfer paper P is fixed and ejected after the completion of transfer. A blank lamp 25 is operated simultaneously with the discharger 13 to remove electric charge of the drum 1. The lamp 25 is provided with lamps L1WL16 in a frame 26 having the same length as the drum 1, and lamps L1W L16 are lit selectively to remove electric charge in a desired region on the drum 1.
