PURPOSE: To enable development free from unevenness, by intermittently developing a photosensitive material coated with an emulsion containing silver halide diffused into galatin, and providing washing steps between each development.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive material coated with an emuslion containing silver halide diffused into gelatin is spin-developed. The photosensitive material exposed to a pattern is first developed with a developing solution consisting mainly of metol and hydroquinone, and washed by water spray rinsing. Next, the second development is carried out with a developing solution of the same components as the preceiding run, and again washed by water spray rinsing. The photosensitive material is fixed with a fixing solution consisting mainly of sodium thiosulfate, and again spray rinsed with water, thus permitting spin development not causing uneven development to be made by conducting 2 steps of developments and followed by spray rinsing steps.
