Title:
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60175052
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare an electrophotographic sensitive body having high heat resistance, mechanical strength, smoothness, abrasion resistance as well as photoconductivity easily and inexpensively by incorporating a specified styryl compd. in a photosensitive layer.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive layer 2' contg. a charge generating substance 3 dispersed in a styryl compd. expressed by the formula [wherein R1 is (substituted alkyl) or (substituted)aryl; R2 is H, (substituted)alkyl, (substituted aryl); Ar is (substituted)aryl], a binder, and a charge transporting medium 4, on a conductive substrate so as to permit the styryl compd. to function as a photoconductive substance and generation and transfer of charge carrier necessary for photoattenuation may be performed through said styryl compd. Since, however, the styryl compd. has almost no absorption in the visible region, a sensitizer having an absorption band in the visible region is added if formation of a picture image is performed with visible rays. Thus, an electrophotographic sensitive body with high durability having superior photosensitive characteristic, heat resistance, and impact strength, etc. is obtd.
