PURPOSE: To prevent the sticking of a toner by having a resin coating layer and to minimize the deterioration in characteristic by forming the coating layer consisting of a specific compd. or its salt and a resin on the surface of an inorg. carrier core material.

CONSTITUTION: A coating layer 2 to be formed on the outside surface of a carrier core material 1 consists of a laminate of a layer 2A of a compd. expressed by the general formulas I WIII or the salt thereof, and a resin layer 2B, by which particularly excellent moisture resistance and durability are obtd. R1, R2, R3 in the formulas are an alkyl group, alkenyl group, allyl group or aralkyl group, q, m, n are 0 or positive integers, X1, X2, X3 are the formula A. The preferred coating amt. of the compds. I WIII or the salt thereof and the coating resin is in a range of 0.01W5wt% with the compds. I WIII or the salt thereof basing on the entire weight of the carrier, and in a range of 0.1W10wt% with the coating resin. The glass transition temp. of the coating resin is preferably at least 60°C.
