PURPOSE: To provide a titled inexpensive cold-rolled steel sheet which permits production by continuous casting, contg. a trace amt. of C and a required amt. of O, contg. also Nb except its oxide form at a content of prescribed magnification to the content of C, and the balance consisting substantially of Fe.
CONSTITUTION: A titled cold-rolled steel sheet for enamel contains, by wt%, ≤0.003% C, and ≥0.020% O, contains ≥2 times W0.04% Nb (except the Nb existing as an oxide) based on the content of C and consists of the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities. The above-described content of C improves simultaneously the elongation characteristic value of steel and the material quality such as γ value, and prevents the generation of gaseous CO in the stage of continuous casting. The content of O increases the hydrogen occluding power in the above-described content of C and suppresses the generation of fishscale. Nb is added in order to improve the defect of increasing anisotropy when a billet decreased in C to an ultralow content in the stage of production is cold- rolled to a steel sheet. This cold-rolled steel sheet is characterized by the capability of permitting treatment in a continuous annealing furnace by using particularly a continuous casting slab without subjecting the same to oven annealing.
