Title:
MANUFACTURE OF PHOTOCONDUCTIVE CADMIUM SULFOSELENIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5874524
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain simple grains of photoconductive CdSSe for electrophotography with high crystallizability, superior photoconductivity, etc. by adding a proper amount of a flux to a mixture of CdS grains with CdSe grains, mixing them, and calcining this mixture in 2 steps.

CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. mixture of CdS grains with CdSe grains is added ≥20pts.wt. flux such as CdCl2 or ZnCl2, and they are mixed. This mixture is calcined at a temp. ≥50°C above the m.p. of the flux, washed and dried to isolate CdSSe grains. The grains are filled into a quartz crucible or the like and calcined again. By this method photoconductive CdSSe grains of a uniform shape are obtd. The resulting CdSSe grains have high resolution and superior suitability to coating, and they are hardly deteriorated when used repeatedly in an electrophotographic process.
