Title:
HALF-SUBMERSIBLE SEA STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6029392
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce resistance against slamming during sailing of a structure in which lower floating members and a working deck are connected together through a plurality of supports and the supports are coupled to each other through a horizontally extending brace by forming the brace in such a way as to have a specific configuration in its sectional area.

CONSTITUTION: Lower floating members 1, 2 and a working deck 3 are connected together through a plurality of supports 4, 5, and the supports 4, 5 are coupled to each other at the base portions 4', 5', respectively, through a horizontally extending brace 7. The brace has sectional areas of a rhomb at the middle portion 7a and a true square at the portions 7b adjacent to the supports 4, 5. The portion 7c intervening between the portions 7a and 7b is formed of a plurality of triangular plates 8a to 8d to gradually converting the rhombic sectional form into the square sectional form. This results in reduction of the resistance of waves to be applied to the structure during sailing, being effective to slamming, and also allows easy construction of the structure.
