Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a toner for dry development undergoing little change in the chargeability due to an environmental change and preventing deterioration in the quality of an image even after repeated continuous copying by adding a specified thioindigo pigment to a binding resin.

CONSTITUTION: A negatively chargeable toner contg. an org. pigment is obtd. by adding 1W10 parts thioindigo pigment represented by general formula I or II(where R is H, CH3 or Cl) to 100 parts binding resin. The chargeability of the toner is almost independent of temp., and the toner has superior durability in repeated continuous copying. The binding resin is selected among various resins including conventional known resins, yet styrene resin is preferably used.
