PURPOSE: To simplify the construction in the body parts of walking bars by moving the walking bars in vertical and ingot moving directions by the rovolution and movement of eccentric shafts thefeby grasping and transferring the ingot.

CONSTITUTION: Eccentric shafts 17W20 which are movable in rotating and ingot B moving directions on the frame 84 in the body parts 4 of walking bars rock and revolve around an axial center O' in a specified angle range. Then upper back stays 9W12 and lower back stays 13W16 via tie rods 22W25 which are respectively freely rtatable around the eccentric axes of the axial centers O, O" offcentered on both sides of the center O' are moved vertically alternately. Thus outer, inner bars 6, 7 respectively at the top and bottom incorporated into the styas 9W16 grasp and release an ingot B alternately. On the other hand, when respective input shafts 29 are rocked and rotated in a specified angle range by thrust cam mechanisms, a pair of levers 36, 35 rock with pins 37 as a fulcrum, and the shaft 20 or 17 moves along the advancing direction of the ingot B, thus moving the bar 7 or 6. The movements thereof are so combined that all the bars move in the advancing direction of the ingot during grasping of the ingot and are reset to the origins when the ingot is released.
