PURPOSE: To secure the electric contact among elements of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery and stabilize its performance by coating the current-collecting surface of the positive case with a conductive adhesive, then bringing a positive layer containing a fluorine-resin binder into close contact with the coated surface before the thus obtained body is dried so as to unify the positive electrode, the paint film and the case.
CONSTITUTION: The current-collecting surface of a positive metallic case also serving as a positive current collector is coated with a conductive adhesive containing soda silicate and potassium silicate as main binding agents and carbon powder as a conductive filler. Next, a positive layer containing a fluorine-resin- system binder is closely applied to the coated surface. After that, this is dried at 200∼280°C so as to dry the positive manganese-dioxide electrode, dry the conductive paint film and to unify the positive electrode, the paint film and the case. This unifying treatment is preferably performed in an atmosphere of an inactive gas. According to this process of working the positive electrode, a thin manganese dioxide-lithium battery having excellent discharge performance and preservation performance is obtained.
