PURPOSE: To enhance the collection and the separation of impurities and to further increase backwashing effect, by rotating a hollow container filled with filter media to stirr a supplied stock liquid.
CONSTITUTION: Filter media 31 are charged between pole pieces 32, 33 in a hollow container 21 having a stock liquid inlet 22 and a treated liquid outlet 23 and excitation apparatuses 41a, 41b are arranged to the external part of the hollow container 21. A flange 24 having a toothed ring-shaped segment provided to the under surface thereof is provided in the hollow container 21 and a drive gear 61 rotated by a drive motor 54 arranged to a frame material 81 is engaged with the gear of the ring-shaped segment 25. Therefore, when a drive motor 54 is operated, the hollow container 21 is stably rotated around the axial line thereof through the drive gear 61 and the flange 24 by idler rollers 63, 64 provided to the flange 24.
