Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent explosion due to the mistake of operation and leakage by mounting detachable short pipes to each pipe forwarding hydrogen gas, an inert gas and compressed air into a casing and valves before and behind the short pipes and enabling temporary closing by means of a blind. CONSTITUTION:The U-shaped short pipes 15a-c, which are easily detached, are set up on its midway of gas ducts 5-7 among a hydrogen gas tank 2, an inert gas tank 3 and a compressed air tank 4 and the rotary electric machine 1. The isolation valves 14a, 16a:14c, 16b:14e, 16c are mounted before and behind each short pipe, and sampling valves 17a, 17b are set up to the short pipes 15a, 15b. When hydrogen gas is enclosed into the casing 1, the isolation valves before and behind the short pipes 15b, 15c are closed, the sampling valve 17b is opened, residual gas is vented, the short pipes 15b, 15c are removed, the pipes are covered with the blinds and the tanks 3, 4 are completely interrupted. When the casing is opened for maintenance and inspection, the short pipe 15a is removed similarly, the tank 2 is interrupted and the inert gas is injected. Accordingly, explosion due to leakage and malfunction is prevented.
