PURPOSE: To prevent the pressure drop of the conditioning air to be supplied into a painting chamber and to decrease the amt. of the water and electric energy to be used by capturing the paint mist scattering in the painting chamber by means of filters attached to a carriage and a filter in a discharge duct.

CONSTITUTION: A material W to be painted such as an automotive body is placed on a carriage 11 in a painting chamber 3 of a painting booth 1 and while the material is conveyed continuously by a conveyor 10, a paint is sprayed onto the surface of the material W from an automatic painting machine 4 thereby painting said material. The paint mist scattering in the chamber 3 without sticking to the surface of the material W is forcibly captured by primary filters 18, 18a provided freely attachably and detachably to the side face of the carriage 11 and secondary filters 25, 25a provided in th mid-way of a discharge duct 23. The pressure drop of the conditioning air with the discharge of the air is decreased as compared to the conventional wet type painting device using water; moreover, the use of water is eliminated and the electric energy for circulating the water is reduced.
