NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula (X, Y and Z are H, halogen alkyl or lower alkoxy; provided that X, Y and Z are not H at the same time).
EXAMPLE: 4-Chloroinnamoylsalicylic acid.
USE: Medicine effective to suppress the immediate allergosis by oral administration.
PROCESS: The objective compound of formula can be prepared by the direct condensation of a substituted cinnamic acid and salicylic acid using dicyclohexyl carbodiimide. The substituted cinnamoyl group of the compound of formula is e.g. 2-methoxycinnamoyl, 2-chlorocinnamoyl, 3,4-dimethoxycinnamoyl, etc. The compound of formula can be prepared preferably by the Schotten-Baumann reaction of the substituted cinnamoyl chloride with salicylic acid as well as the method described above.
