Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to judge the uniformity of the brick structure of a refractory nozzle, by a method wherein the outer surface of a porous structural member having a hollow part is closely adhered and coated with a gas-tight film layer while hermetically closing the opening parts of said member and a fluid is introduced into the hollow part under pressure.

CONSTITUTION: The outer surface of a refractory nozzle being a porous structural member having a hollow part is closely adhered and coated with a gas- tight film layer 2 while the opening part (inflow port) 5 thereof is hermetically closed and a fluid is introduced into the hollow part under pressure to generate a semi-spherical peeled part to the film layer 2 of the nozzle 1. The peeled part of the film layer is generated locally or uniformly by the uniformity of the brick structure of the refractory nozzle 1. By this method, the uniformity of the brick structure of the refractory nozzle can be judged.
