PURPOSE: To apply an exciting force to a caterpillar band without restraining the motion of the caterpillar band by providing an adapter to part of the caterpillar band and also providing a universal joint which connects the adapter and the upper end part of the piston of an exciting cylinder together.
CONSTITUTION: A spacer 11 is interposed between the caterpillar band 6 and adapter 12a. An adapter 12b which presses the caterpillar band 6 from above against the adapter 12a across the spacer 11 is provided. Part of the caterpillar band 6 mounted on the body 10 of a tracked vehicle is clamped by the adapters 12a and 12b across the spacer 11 at plural positions, and the adapters 12a and 12b are fixed to the joint 13 with bolts to mount the tracked vehicle to be tested as to vibration on a vibration testing device. The exciting force operates on part of components of the caterpillar band 6, but even if the part slants, the joint 13 rotates around a shaft 15, so no unreasonable force is applied to the caterpillar band 6. Leftward and rightward inclination is permitted by a self-aligning bearing 14, so excitation is attained without hindrance even when the caterpillar band 6 slants slightly to right and left.
