PURPOSE:To obtain the titled apparatus for automatically racking or unracking PC boards or the like which can perform uniform plating treatment while completely eliminating flagging during setting, by adopting the constitution that said apparatus has large width against the thickness of the PC boards to enable to perform taking in and out along a horizontal direction to a jig. CONSTITUTION:A board P at the upper surface of PC boards piled up on the table 1a of a means 1 for supplying PC boards P is sucked 4, pulled up with a cylinder 21, swung in a 180- degree arc and then pushed out by a roller 9 in a waiting state under an opened condition. The roller 9 is closed, and the board P is held by guiding it with the outer groove of said roller without turning it over. Thereafter, a vacuum put 4 is drawn inwards, the board P is pushed forwards into the guide groove 18'' of a jig 18 with a rod 14 by the operation of a transfer head 10 and then forwarded until it comes in contact with a stopper 16, and then the rod 14 is drawn inwards and returned to its original position. On the other hand, during the advancement of the head 10, a flexible swinging arm 5 is rotated in a 180-degree arc, the board P is absorbed with another put 4 and let stand by at this side between upper and lower rollers 9. Thus, said operation is repeated by the number of boards corresponding to the crosswise width of the jig to complete the automatic racking corresponding to one piece of the jig 18.
